About

Me, 1989

Well hello! I’m Jason; a bike geek, home brewer, and mechanical engineer living in Vancouver, BC. I’ve lived in this area all my life.

Ever since I learned to ride, bikes have been a central part of my life. It’s where my idle thoughts usually drift, it’s how I keep active, and most importantly it’s how I see the world around me.

I enjoy practicing my technical skills while riding challenging terrain and I also enjoy the mechanical beauty of the bicycle. Above all, I think the bicycle’s highest purpose is efficient, affordable transportation for nearly anyone.

Me, 2020

Outside of bikes, I am usually spending time with my partner Aimée and our two herding dogs. My career in mechanical engineering was indeed inspired by bicycles, specifically the golden era of suspension design in the mid to late 2000’s. I’ve been able to participate in the design of a variety of novel machinery in the 12 years I’ve been doing engineering work now, but I firmly believe that the bicycles being produced from around the mid 80s to the mid 90s will go down in history as being the pinnacle of bicycle design: simple, durable, repairable, and efficient.
